What does maxing every hero and its gear cost?
Maxing all six heroes costs 1,789 builder days and 57.5 million Dark Elixir for the levels (the Grand Warden is paid in 990.7 million Elixir instead), and 1,845,260 ore for their 43 pieces of equipment: 1,719,380 Shiny, 116,760 Glowy and 9,120 Starry. The Archer Queen and the Barbarian King each need 19 % of the ore, the Dragon Duke 13 %. And at Town Hall 18, with the storages at their maximum, the last level of every hero costs 90 to 98 % of what the storage holds: Dark Elixir for five heroes, Elixir for the Grand Warden.

Two price tables for 43 pieces
Every hero has between six and eight pieces of equipment: 24 common ones, which go to level 18, and 19 epic ones, which go to level 27. All common pieces share one price table and all epic pieces share another; I checked it piece by piece. Equipment costs ore and nothing else: no gold, no builder, no time. A common piece to level 18 costs 27,260 Shiny and 1,920 Glowy Ore. An epic to level 27 costs 56,060 Shiny, 3,720 Glowy and 480 Starry Ore, which is 2.07 times a common in total ore.
| Hero | Pieces | Shiny Ore | Glowy Ore | Starry Ore | All ore | Share |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Barbarian King | 8 (4 + 4) | 333,280 | 22,560 | 1,920 | 357,760 | 19.4 % |
| Archer Queen | 8 (4 + 4) | 333,280 | 22,560 | 1,920 | 357,760 | 19.4 % |
| Grand Warden | 7 (4 + 3) | 277,220 | 18,840 | 1,440 | 297,500 | 16.1 % |
| Royal Champion | 7 (4 + 3) | 277,220 | 18,840 | 1,440 | 297,500 | 16.1 % |
| Minion Prince | 7 (4 + 3) | 277,220 | 18,840 | 1,440 | 297,500 | 16.1 % |
| Dragon Duke | 6 (4 + 2) | 221,160 | 15,120 | 960 | 237,240 | 12.9 % |
| All six heroes | 43 (24 + 19) | 1,719,380 | 116,760 | 9,120 | 1,845,260 | 100 % |
The difference between the heroes is the number of epics: four for the King and the Queen, three each for the Warden, the Champion and the Prince, two for the Dragon Duke. Epics are 44 % of the pieces and 62 % of the ore. Counted by units of ore, 93 % are Shiny, 6.3 % Glowy and 0.5 % Starry. That is about 189 Shiny and 13 Glowy for every Starry.
Over half an epic's ore is in its last nine levels
From level 10 up the Shiny price rises by 100 a level, but the other two ores arrive on their own rhythm. Glowy Ore is spent on every third level from level 3. Starry Ore starts at level 9 and is then also spent every third level, in amounts of 10, 20, 30, 50, 100, 120 and 150 (at levels 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24 and 27).
| Levels | Shiny Ore | Glowy Ore | Starry Ore | Share of the ore |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Levels 1 to 8 | 4,760 | 120 | 0 | 8 % |
| Levels 9 to 18 | 22,500 | 1,800 | 110 | 41 % |
| Levels 19 to 27 | 28,800 | 1,800 | 370 | 51 % |
| Whole piece, levels 1 to 27 | 56,060 | 3,720 | 480 | 100 % |
Levels 19 to 27 cost more Shiny Ore than levels 1 to 18 put together (28,800 against 27,260) and carry 77 % of the Starry Ore. The last three levels alone are 19 % of the piece: 10,500 Shiny, 600 Glowy and 150 Starry. Levels 1 to 8 are 8 % of the ore.
The ore bill by Town Hall
Two things set the bill at a given hall: which heroes you have, and the level each piece can reach through the Blacksmith. Adding up the pieces of the heroes the hall has unlocked, each at the level the hall allows, gives the ore a village at that hall needs to max all its equipment. A hero's pieces count from the hall at which the hero's first level can be built, the same rule the app's equipment overview follows. The Barbarian King and the Archer Queen are there from the first row, Town Hall 8.
| Town Hall | Shiny Ore | Glowy Ore | Starry Ore | All ore | Of final bill | Added |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Town Hall 8 | 133,280 | 7,360 | 240 | 140,880 | 8 % | 140,880 |
| Town Hall 9 | 190,640 | 10,480 | 330 | 201,450 | 11 % | 60,570 |
| Town Hall 10 | 339,660 | 21,720 | 660 | 362,040 | 20 % | 160,590 |
| Town Hall 11 | 435,720 | 27,840 | 840 | 464,400 | 25 % | 102,360 |
| Town Hall 12 | 673,540 | 46,680 | 1,540 | 721,760 | 39 % | 257,360 |
| Town Hall 13 | 813,700 | 56,400 | 1,870 | 871,970 | 47 % | 150,210 |
| Town Hall 14 | 1,129,260 | 79,320 | 3,570 | 1,212,150 | 66 % | 340,180 |
| Town Hall 15 | 1,465,360 | 101,520 | 6,270 | 1,573,150 | 85 % | 361,000 |
| Town Hall 16 | 1,692,120 | 114,840 | 9,120 | 1,816,080 | 98 % | 242,930 |
| Town Hall 17 | 1,719,380 | 116,760 | 9,120 | 1,845,260 | 100 % | 29,180 |
The bill grows in steps of very different size, and four of them bring a new hero: the Minion Prince's seven pieces join at Town Hall 9, the Grand Warden's seven at 11, the Royal Champion's seven at 13 and the Dragon Duke's six at 15. The two biggest steps are Town Hall 15 (361,000 ore) and Town Hall 14 (340,180); from Town Hall 13 to 15 the bill climbs from 47 % to 85 % of the final one. A Town Hall 12 player has 61 % of the final bill still ahead, a Town Hall 14 player 34 %. Town Hall 17 is the last hall that adds any ore, and what it adds is one common piece in full, the Electro Fangs, whose level 2 needs Town Hall 17: 29,180 ore. Town Hall 18 adds none. Eleven of the 24 common pieces start late like that: their level 2 needs a Town Hall between 9 and 17.
The other bill: hero levels
The levels are paid separately, in builder time and Dark Elixir, except for the Grand Warden, who is paid in Elixir. All six heroes at Town Hall 18 take 1,789 builder days.
| Hero | Max level | Builder days | Total cost | Last level | Storage fills |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Barbarian King | 110 | 403 | 15.2 million Dark Elixir | 490,000 Dark Elixir (98 % of the storage) | 30.3 |
| Archer Queen | 110 | 403 | 15.2 million Dark Elixir | 490,000 Dark Elixir (98 % of the storage) | 30.3 |
| Grand Warden | 85 | 302 | 990.7 million Elixir | 30,500,000 Elixir (98 % of the storage) | 32.0 |
| Royal Champion | 55 | 201 | 9.2 million Dark Elixir | 450,000 Dark Elixir (90 % of the storage) | 18.3 |
| Minion Prince | 95 | 361 | 12.4 million Dark Elixir | 450,000 Dark Elixir (90 % of the storage) | 24.7 |
| Dragon Duke | 25 | 119 | 5.6 million Dark Elixir | 480,000 Dark Elixir (96 % of the storage) | 11.3 |
Two things stand out. The Barbarian King and the Archer Queen cost 403 builder days and 15.2 million Dark Elixir each, and the Grand Warden costs 990.7 million Elixir, about 3.3 million for every day of upgrade time. And the top levels are enormous against the storage. At Town Hall 18 the Town Hall and the Dark Elixir Storage hold 500,000 Dark Elixir; the King's level 110 costs 490,000 and the Dragon Duke's level 25 costs 480,000. A hero's whole climb would fill the storage 11 to 30 times over (32 for the Warden, in Elixir).
So one full storage pays for one top-level hero upgrade, not two: you cannot start a second one until the storage has filled again, even when a builder is free. Across the five Dark Elixir heroes the levels alone come to 57.5 million Dark Elixir.
Method and limits
The ore comes from the app's own ore calculator and the hero levels from the same hall measure the Progress tab uses. Two routes agree: the calculator's sums against a direct sum over the level rows, for every piece and every Town Hall.
- The 43 pieces are the non-internal equipment in the game data. Which hero each belongs to comes from ClashClock's equipment table, built from a community data package with a few hand entries for the newest pieces, so a hero's share rests on it.
- Ore only. I have no ore income figures in the data and do not turn the totals into weeks. To get time, divide a total by the ore you collect in a week.
- A piece you have not found yet costs nothing yet, but it is in the bill: every piece is counted from level 1.
- The table by Town Hall counts a hero's pieces only from the hall at which the hero's first level can be built in the game data (the Minion Prince at Town Hall 9, the Grand Warden at 11, the Royal Champion at 13, the Dragon Duke at 15; the Barbarian King and the Archer Queen are already there at the first row, Town Hall 8), as the app's equipment overview lists them. Every other figure is for Town Hall 18, where all six heroes are there.
- Hero levels are the upgrade times and prices as printed, without Gold Pass, potions, books or helpers. The Barbarian King's 110 levels and the other maximums are those of the game data of 8 October 2026.
- Storage capacity is the Town Hall plus the storages at their maximum; the Clan Castle is not counted. Crafted Defenses and later equipment are not in the data.
ClashClock's ore calculator prices any piece from any level to any level, and the Progress tab counts the equipment you have found, per hero.

How long does it take to max each Town Hall?
Builder days, lab days and gold for Town Halls 8 to 18, from the game data. Why the Laboratory, not the number of builders, sets the floor for maxing.
What does sleeping cost your builders?
Simulated with ClashClock's planner: an hour of sleep costs a builder about 10 seconds with the right order, and nearly 3 minutes at Town Hall 12 without it.
